BizVid Video Production FAQs

Why should I invest in video?
When you consider the variety of uses to which a video message can be applied, this may be one of the most cost-effective mediums available. With the advent of web streaming video, and more accessible delivery (viewing) methods, video is rapidly becoming a preferred mode of communication for businesses.  For example, professionally produced online videos skyrocketed by over 50% in 2007 from previous years, to 33.5 billion views (streams and progressive downloads) delivered through professionally branded sites. This is according to a research study published by AccuStream iMedia Research.  Further, the MacWorld publication recently stated that video viewership is increasing exponentially each month. Almost 134 million U.S. internet users watched a little over 9 billion video clips in July of 2008, which was up from 126.6 million people and a little over 7 billion clips in March of the same year. To summarize, now is the time for you to team up with BizVid Communications and take advantage of this remarkable medium.

How can I use video for my organization?
Here are a few of the uses for professionally produced videos within organizations: recruiting, product introduction videos & marketing, sales presentations, capturing corporate events & retreats, documentaries, investor relations, community relations, product displays, company seminars, corporate training, customer orientation, lecture archiving, producing and selling DVD series’, sending video emails, trade show intros, online streaming videos, corporate profiles, human resource training, staff orientations, surgical procedures, commercial videos, infomercials, television or other longform programming, and so forth.

What can I expect to pay for good video production?
The industry says a typical informational video should be priced between $1,000 and $1,500 per “produced” minute. Often, we can do much better than that. Because of BizVid’s hands-on involvement, extensive experience and low overhead, clients are pleasantly surprised at our cost efficiencies. Let us bid a project for you, without obligation.  It’s not the big budgets, but the big ideas that make a successful video.

I’m a small company, so how can I afford to do a quality video within my limited budget?
It’s more likely than you might think. Tell us of your budget expectations and we’ll fashion your video around those parameters. If your expectations are unrealistic, we’ll give you alternatives until we come up with workable solutions. If you would prefer, allow us to ask a few important questions about your video plans and we’ll fashion a production and budget to suit you. Further, you’ll probably be able to use your video in more applications than you had planned. These may include television commercials, video emails, streaming web video segments on your web pages, video teasers and so forth.

I’m a big company and I have an unlimited production budget, can you help?
Pinch us, I think we’re hallucinating. Absolutely, positively, of course.  We’ll meet you in Hawaii to discuss your project.

Aren’t all video production companies similar?
No. There are small scale wedding video-type producers that specialize in minimally scripted or non-scripted productions for limited exposure. Then there are those who will build highly marketable videos and craft scripts suitable for businesses and higher profile clientele. BizVid is among the latter. Even within our category, production techniques and equipment may be similar from one production company to another. BizVid’s biggest difference is found in our decades of award-winning experience (conferred upon us by our peers) and innovative thinking. Add to this our sincere dedication to come along side each video partner, hear your unique needs, then provide practical and effective production solutions, on budget, on time, time after time.

How experienced are you?
The principles at BizVid are seasoned professional video production experts, each having decades of experience. We possess ten Emmy Awards, numerous Tellys for the television commercials, a JD Power & Associates Award for best automotive broadcast in international competition, and about a dozen Diamond Awards for the finest national marketing within the financial field. We have orchestrated big-budget productions with Fortune 500 clients and small budget videos for the business next door. We’re dedicated that every video partner will experience our finest effort and a finished product for which they can be proud.

What’s your philosophy on pricing?
Simple. It doesn’t take big budgets to build commanding videos. Rather, it takes big ideas, supported by the ability to deliver them. We’d be honored to help you accomplish this.

What if I’m too busy to oversee the video production process?
Very few of our clients actually have time to manage the complexities of a video production project. We don’t expect you to. Since we write, hire talent, scout locations and facilitate the other logistics, your job will simply be approving the process at key junctures. You’ll find it to be simpler than you probably imagined. For a more detailed account of the concepting, writing, production and approval processes, visit our website at www.bizvidcommunications.com and access our link entitled “Process.”

How long will it take to create a video?
In most instances a video production may take a few short weeks from inception to completion. Sometimes less. Part of BizVid’s process is to provide a realistic timeline to our clients. Typically, the only thing that may slow down a timeline is the length of time a client takes to review and approve the different production stages.

How can I be assured that you’ll do a good job?
We treasure our reputation as San Diego video production experts for being caring, trustworthy, conscientious and skilled. We espouse that old school philosophy which requires us to work hard and provide quality at our highest level, consistently. Ask us for referrals and hear for yourself. And, final payment is not made until you are satisfied.

Who owns the video and the elements?
You do. You own your master tapes and the raw footage that we create along the way for building the finished video.

How do I pay for my video production?
Because of the high level of preparation leading up to the actual production date (scripting time, advanced crew and equipment commitments, etc.), it is customary for BizVid to request a portion of the payment upon budget approval, with the remainder due at certain production earmarks, or upon completion.  This will be arranged in advance and with full approval. If the client adds production complexities along the way, which may result in higher costs, those considerations will be assessed and approved before going forward. We’re dedicated to keeping our promises.
