Welcome to another BizVid Communications Premiere Pro video tutorial.Today I’m going to show you how to create bullet points inside the Essential Graphics panel.
Before I learned this technique, I found that the creation of bullet points for me was stressful and tedious. As you will see, making a bullet point is very simple… so let’s get started.
Let’s imagine that a hypothetical client has asked me to add some bullet points to their video. We’re editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, so we start by locating the Essential Graphics panel.
First, ensure that “num lock” is turned on. (The “num lock” key is the top left key of the numerical keypad.)
Next, hold down the “Alt” key and press “7” on the numerical keypad.
Then, type any desired text for your bullet point and press “enter” to finish.
To make another bullet point, simply repeat the Alt+7 keystoke.
That’s all there is to it.
In other words Alt+7 = Bullet Point
So simple and stress-free.I hope that you’ve learned from this tutorial.
Until next time, thanks for watching and happy editing.
Today I’m going to show you how to use Adobe Audition to create a seamless music track customized to whatever length you want.
Before I discovered the technique I’m about to show you, I used to waste a lot of time trying to get a seamless loop of music: I’d lay the music track in the time line, cut it in half, drag the ending to the end of the video, then drag the left side back to the cut, add a cross dissolve and hope it sounded seamless. If not, I would play around with it until it worked. All of that process took a lot of guesswork and time. Thankfully, there’s a much easier way.
In this example, it’s worth pointing out that I subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud so my versions of Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition are up to date.
In the video embedded above, I have a talking-head segment that is 3:49 long, but my music cut is only two minutes thirteen second. If I played the existing music track under that video clip, the music would stop well before the video did, and that’s distracting to the person viewing the video. Let’s make our audio track match the length of our video clip
First, determine the length of your project. In my case, my project 3:49 so that’s the length of time I need my music to be but the track I have is only 2:13. So let’s make a seamless loop timed to 3:49. Next, go to “Edit” and scroll to “Edit in Adobe Audition” and click “Sequence.” Next, name it what you want. I’ll name this “Loop Track” then click “OK.”That opens Adobe Audition and imports the audio tracks from your Premier Pro project.
Next, I’ll create a new multitrack session. So, go to “file > new > multitrack session” and click. I’ll name it “music loop track” and click “ok.” Next, in the “files” section, find the music track and drag it into track one of the multitrack session. Next, go to the “properties” tab on the left side. If it’s not visible, go to “Windows” and click “properties. In the “properties” window is “Remix.” Click “enable remix” and that will take a few seconds to remix the track. Now we create the magic.
Here you’re going to change the target duration to whatever you want the new length of your music track to be. My project is 3:49 minutes long so I will change the duration of the music track to 3:49. Next, click enterand it will seamlessly loop the track to your desired length. To see where audition made the cuts, you can zoom in to see the little razor lines. Beautiful.
Next go to “file > export > export to Adobe Premiere Pro”. Click “export” and next it will open your project, where you will click “ok” for a new audio track and it will bring your seamless, looped audio track into the project for your use. How easy and convenient is that?!
By the way, if you have other projects you are working on an you want to use the same music track, you can leave Adobe Audition open and change the duration time to meet the needs of the new project. So there you have it. I hope this tutorial has been helpful. Please visit our website to see the type of work we do. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for joining us on this blog from Bizvid Communications, a leading video production company located in San Diego California. My name is Caz Taylor. We have a lot of fun on our video shoots, and this is no exception.
On behalf of the EMRA (Emergency Medicine Resident’s Association), and the SAEM (Society for Academic Emergency Medicine), Dr. David Gordon is here. Besides being a physician, he is an instructor and an emergency room expert. One of the things that he does on a professional level is to teach medical students how to diagnose patients in an emergency environment, and relay that information clearly to an on-duty attending physician.
Dr., tell us a little bit about your strategy behind the shooting session which we just completed.
(Dr. Gordon:)With the current generation of learners they have certain expectations. Things do have to have an entertainment value. Further, they need their information to be concise and to the point. We thought that video was a great medium to reach them.
(Caz:) It was fun to watch Dr. Gordon, and all of his teammates come together today. They not only understand the business of emergency medicine, but were able to communicate the message using a cast of medical students and experts who were non-professional actors. But, they did so well because they truly understood the topic. Dr. Gordon, is there anything that struck you when we went through the videotaping today?
(Dr. Gordon:) First, it was a blast. Secondly, I learned a lot about your artistry, and what goes on behind the scenes to make a video production work. That includes the lighting, the sound, and the framing. So, we were able to do things using video, which we were not able to convey all by ourselves. We really appreciate the help.
(Caz:) So, my viewing friend, here’s a tip for those who do video on one side of the camera or the other. It is a good idea to know, and understand your topic. That way, when you speak about the topic, you can express it clearly, and concisely. Then, everybody understands the message, and it is a lot of fun.
This blog will deal with ONLINE VIDEO FREQUENCY. In other words, we’ll look at how frequently online video watchers look at videos and we’ll determine the kinds of content they view.
As an industry leader in video production in San Diego, California, BizVid Communications thought you might be interested in some of the findings from the recently released US Digital Benchmark, published by the Adobe Digital Index, for 2nd quarter 2014 edition.
Online TV consumers are viewing content at an ever-increasing frequency. Here are the findings:
The average authenticated video per visitor has increased 54.8% year over year.
Android app viewers are frequenting online TV content 58.5% more than they were a year ago.
Here is the opportunity: If you have videos produced for your company, you need to be aware of the shift in consumer viewing habits.
Viewer behavior is changing from casual viewing to binge consumption, for example, they are now more likely to stream multiple episodes in one session.
Here’s a little about video viewing frequency by genre … Not all content is created equal. Different genres of content exhibit different levels of viewing frequency, among other things. Here are recent Findings:
Broadcast and cable networks realized a viewing frequency increase of 80.6% YEAR OVER YEAR.
Viewing frequency on sports networks increased 31.3% YEAR OVER YEAR.
Movie network channel viewing of Premium movie content is rising in the number of videos being watched. Here are the findings:
Movie network channel viewing frequency realized a 125% increase YEAR OVER YEAR.
As viewers look for more diverse content to stream, they appear to be turning to and engaging more with movie channels.
The bottom line is that businesses need to seize the opportunity and provide more content to keep viewers engaged.
As you know, the whole idea of viewing video, particularly by using mobile devices, is changing the complexion of online viewing. As a leading video producer BizVid Communications in San Diego County loves these trends, but if you are a business, you should realize with this increased comfort of your customers and potential customers in viewing online video content will come a greater need by you to focus on the use of video on your website, in social media and elsewhere. Sometimes, you may want a bit more intricate look, and that is where the fun comes in. We can bring in any size set that you can imagine, and we also have a set designer right here in this building and part of our North County Media Center team.
We have a dedicated audio room for recording dedicated ADR and voiceovers, and books on tape. We actually have a podcast network that operates out of our facility.
We also have an abundance of other space for other purposes. This includes a large green room, a hair and makeup room, and two restrooms.
You will also find open spaces where any producer can meet with his team to discuss the shooting schedule for the day, or have a place where the crew or talent can actually relax and prepare for the shoot. Beyond this, there is still ample space for the director, producer, and client to accomplish all of their own duties.
We have the facilities to make your production streamlined from end to end.
Welcome to this BizVid Communications blog as we present the strategies in scouting a good location for your video. Bizvid communications is the video production leader located in San Diego County.
Here, Bizvid was preparing to videotape a music video for a praise and worship team. We already knew the site for the video; a church in the San Diego area. Our scouting task on this project was to discover the lay of the land and strategize how to best capture the flow of events. In addition to capturing about five original songs, we also needed to interview 8 to 10 individuals during the taping.
While it is often optimum to have the director of photography or camera person join in the scouting…In this instance the producer was responsible for assessing the location and conveying proper information back to the director of photography. Because on the day of the shoot, time will be of essence, the less you leave to chance the better.
This is a photograph of what the sanctuary looked like. Since the musical group would be videotaped in the round, and not on stage … Orthodox positioning of cameras needed to be reconsidered. As such, several different vantage points were assessed and the location of the musicians circle was drawn around the area which represented the musicians’ locations. These different angles would assist the director of photography on knowing which would be best for each of the three camera angles.
As a result of these photographs, the director of photography was able to create this diagram for camera placement.
Photographs were also taken of the control booth and its proximity to the cameras, to assess how cabling might be distributed. Also during the scouting process, electrical outlets were identified so that they could be used easily and quickly during the actual shooting day.
Since interviews were to be an intricate part of the video production, three different locations were scouted within the church building. Each one had its benefits, and drawbacks. Presenting these to the director of photography helped identify the best one, suited for this venue.
We are running out of time on this blog, but we wanted to give you an overview of some of the thought processes in pulling a video location together. The more you think through your needs in advance and have them covered and equipped, the more smoothly your production will go and the happier your clients will be. Thank you for joining us on this blog.
Hello blog friends, thank you for visiting Bizvid communication the leading producer of video, located in San Diego County.
My partner and I do a lot of videotaping and here we are in San Diego at a rather exciting video set. We are at Brandes Investment Partners to do an entire series of videos.
The schedule we have planned is what we would call a little ambitious. So, one of the things we have to do in situations like this is to be very tightly regimented in our time management. In other words, we have to know what goes where in different time slots and how long we anticipate each of those scenes to take.Read more →

Hello BizVid friends. We wanted to present another in our series of blogs to you. This will be an informative blog, especially if you are involved in video production at all… and want to make your on-camera people look their best.
I would like to introduce to you Katie Mueller, she is one of the best make-up people we have ever worked with, and I thought it would be an opportunity to ask her a few questions. If you are a video camera aficionado, whether it is one of those little cameras on your phone or an iPad or iPhone there are some tricks of the trade that will turn your little video into a more professional looking video.
Katie, you do a lot of work not only in video, but still photography and weddings and things like that. What is the main difference that you see in make-up for video rather then still photography for weddings and things like that?
Katie Mueller: Video preparation with make-up is a little different because of the lighting. Little things are different like the shadow underneath your brow bone. You want to make sure that that is matted (softened), because it can reflect. And if you are a male, for example, put some powder on it, because it can reflect and give a luminescent look. You don’t want that, especially males. That is, unless you are going for that look.
Another thing to be aware of when you’re dealing with anything on set or with a green screen, are the ears. The top of the ears or the inside of the ears, if those things are showing at all, you want to make sure that you powder them, and mat those out. Those are really the big things that you need to be aware of, whether you are on a video set, or a set for photography… A little more make-up is always needed, otherwise it looks a little blown out. So, even if you want a natural look, a little make-up can be beneficial. This is true even if someone does not usually wear make up… You may need makeup for your features to show up on screen. Otherwise you may look completely washed out.
Caz: So, being on camera is a little different than seeing things in living person! A lot of the people that we are talking to here are not professional videographers, but they can carry with them powders and things like that to help?
Katie: Yes, any type of translucent powder would work. It’s really, really simple…translucent powder that can go on any skin type is actually a really good thing to have in your backpack… But avoid baby powder because it shows up poorly on the screen, or any other powder that has an undertone of the luminescent look. Just a natural translucent type powder is really good to have. Also, Chapstick is really good to have. It’s good to have these items in your back pocket and ready to go… These will really help your picture quality.
Caz: Let’s talk about those people who have those little hair “frumples”… Or that have shampooed recently and have those little frizzies… Or someone who hasn’t paid close attention to their hair when they have this little hair thing sticking out up there… What is your recommendation to the camera people about this?
Katie: For me personally, I generally carry hair wax or little spray bottle in my purse. If you happen to have that available, it’s a good idea to have it. If you do not, just a squirt bottle or some water will do. Then lightly water the hair down…you don’t want to drench their hair. Sometimes just the oil off your hands can be really helpful, though it may sound gross, it really works well for smoothing the hair out, and that really does a whole lot! Really be aware of the hair from all angles, because that is where the camera picks up. Beware of the over all look on camera.
Caz: Before we go any further, I’m going to have Katie give us a website so people can find out how to get a hold of her and find out about her amazing makeup skills.
Katie:you can actually just go to my website. You can find out for you much all you need there, all my information, or you can ask me some questions.
Caz: Katie, one of the other things, as we close here in this blog, is you not only take care of the hair and makeup…you are interested in the overall look of the person. Do you have any further comments?
Katie: Yes, make sure that you look at the person overall… And the state of how they are dressing. Umm, like this Caz… Keeping yourself buttoned-down… And properly cleaned.
Caz: Well, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, there’s our blog on make-up (with a little personal instruction to me). Katie, thank you for joining us and for keeping everybody buttoned down as they do their own videotaping.
