“So, what exactly does a professional San Diego video producer do?” I have been asked that question on many occasions and my answer is simple….they make a video production happen. Every video production whether it is a web video, an event video, a video for DVD distribution or a webinar, needs structure to be successful and to fulfill the client mandate. The video producer has oversight of everything from scripting through final edit and distribution. It’s a daunting task to be sure and it’s a job that always offers new and exciting challenges.
The video producer’s job duties include hiring director and crew, booking locations, securing permits, working with the client to satisfy their requirements, overseeing and administering the agreed upon budget and insuring that the final outcome is true to the script. The professional video producer is a busy person but usually enjoys the pressure that is a natural part of the video production business. As someone who has spent over two decades as a video producer, I can tell you that it among the hardest jobs in the production world. That being said, it’s also one of the most rewarding and I could not imagine a better way to spend my days.
