I got into the business of video production because my fascination for video and the production process came to me at an early age. I loved the idea of taking a video from concept to completion. It is not much different than an artist who paints on canvas. The final result is a finished work of art. Since my entrance into the business, much has changed with professional video. It has gone from image capture with large tube cameras onto 2-inch video tape to image capture with compact cameras onto memory cards.
The editing process has evolved as well. Gone are the days of spending time in a multi-million dollar edit suite. Now editing is as simple as importing the video files into a desktop or laptop computer loaded with a non-linear editing program. And the venues for viewing finished video productions have increased as well. Available are TV’s, Video for web or website video as it is sometimes called, iPad’s and the list goes on. All in all, I enjoy my journey in this fascinating business. Most of all, I enjoy being a part of the San Diego video production scene.
